National Road 103 is much more than a simple route linking the coast to the northern interior of Portugal.
It’s a route that unites twelve municipalities – Viana do Castelo, Esposende, Barcelos, Braga, Póvoa de Lanhoso, Vieira do Minho, Montalegre, Boticas, Chaves, Valpaços, Vinhais and Bragança – through unique landscapes, authentic heritage and a common identity that deserves to be (re)discovered.
It was in this spirit that the EN103 Initiative was born: an inter-municipal project that unites wills, resources and strategies to promote the tourist, cultural and economic potential of this territory.
More than a road route, the N103 is now a collective narrative – a common thread between tradition and innovation, between what we are and what we want to be.
The initiative arises from the conviction that the integrated valorization of this axis can generate real impact on local communities, foster sustainable tourism and give stage to stories that have been waiting to be told for a long time.
Basically, it’s a journey. But not just geographically. It’s a journey of identity, belonging and connection. And it’s only just beginning.
